Why this site?
I love travel.
I love Photography
...and of course, I love my wife, Verena Schenk!
But this site is dedicated to the first two subjects.
Where have you been?
I’ve been to all 7 continents, and still working on the various countries (up to 46 right now). To get a better sense of where, there’s a page here to detail. Maybe I’ve been to your town! Write me then!
Are you going to show us photos?
There’s a number of photos here, but unfortunately I didn't’ catch the shutter-bug until I had been a number of places. So I don’t have pictures from everywhere I’ve been. I only put photos on this site that I have personally taken (of course if I’m in the photo, I had to relinquish my camera to someone else!)
Who is James?
I work for ShopWiki.com, a comparison shopping engine that searches all eCommerce stores to find the best deals possible, and the biggest selection. It uses crawler technology just like Google, but exclusive to shopping. We started a site last year in the UK, ShopWiki.co.uk that finds all the stores in the UK for the broadest selection and the lowest prices. We have about 200,000 stores for the US site, and about 30,000 for the UK site. For France, we have ShopWiki.fr, as well as ShopWiki.de for Germany and ShopWiki.nl for The Netherlands. At the far end of the world ShopWiki.com.au services shoppers in Australia.
Are you really not going to say a word about Verena?
Of course I am... Verena & James got married!!!! We finally tied the knot. Although that site was used for wedding planning, there are now links to photos from the wedding day and honeymoon.
You can read about our New York real estate experience living downtown at 63 Wall St that the NY Times reported about in Nov 2004:
Verena and James in the NY Times
We don’t live there anymore :-) We now live at the Beacon, Beacon owner’s web resources here The website where I’m an administrator / moderate discussion for The Beacon - Capitol and Rialto and I was just mentioned in the NY Times for the BeaconOwners website
You can also see Verena’s parents Hermann and Rita Schenk. They rent out an apartment for people who want to visit the Rhoen in Germany.
What’s with the Questions?
I’m always curious, and I’m always asking questions. Sometimes to the annoyance of those around me. I believe there’s always something to learn every day.
OH! look at Verena’s problems with customer service at Tourneau for her Longines watch.
